Tips for wallpapers:
Don't think wallpapers need alot of filters; alot of the wallpapers I make I don't use many, only to make some adjustments and stuff.
Don't get carried away with brushes; using stock images of different textures is a better way to get a more unique and better quality of different effects.
Adjustment layers are key; gaining the right color is critical.
Don't give into fads; make wallpapers that YOU like.
Practice, Practice, Practice. Get others input in session zero. Get HARSH criticism, cause then you want to prove to them that you can make even better work, and therefore the quality of your work gets better.
HAVE FUN.
